Termite Inspections (WDO) | Home Inspection Palm Coast

A Wood Destroying Organism inspection (WDO), commonly referred to as a “Termite Inspection” is a written report of an inspection on a home for visible and accessible evidence of an infestation or damage by wood destroying organisms. Usually a termite inspection report is done when a home or structure is being sold and the mortgage lender requires the inspection as part of the transaction. Upon request, South Country Home Inspections will provide a third party licensed pest control company to perform this inspection.

Termite inspections should be done by a professional who can pinpoint where the possible termite entry points are and determine whether or not they are in fact still there. Termite inspections are usually done by seeking signs of termite movement by looking for things like termite droppings, wings, entry points as well as potential hot spots which varies between termite species. Termite inspections can be done in between  30 mins to 2 hours. It all depends on the size of the house that is getting the inspection done.

Termite Inspections are written reports of an inspection on a home for visible and accessible evidence of an infestation or damage by wood destroying organisms.

Termite inspections can prove to be beneficial in the home buying process as well. Though most mortgage lenders already require it, a house that has any indications of termite damage or that has termites in it can be negotiated during the purchasing process. Termite inspections are also important to protect the value of your investment if you are the home owner to make sure further damage is prevented. Feel free to give us a call for your termite inspections and we will gladly help give you a thorough and accurate report.
